Gavin Esler

Gavin Esler is such a nice man. He never asks too much of his guests (Jeremy prefers to address them as 'victims'), preferring instead an asinine, warbling technique to get to the 'crux of the matter'. It sometimes works, as when he asked evil evil man John Cleese how he came up with the idea of Fawlty Towers. He is also a terrific novelist, A Scandalous Man being met with almost universal less than negative reviews. His arm movements are the most expressive of all the Newsnight team...yes, I know it's controversial, but even more so than Paul Mason's.
